The Economic Community for West African States’ (ECOWAS) Commissioner for Energy and Mines, Dr Morlaye Bangoura on Thursday March 26th, 2015 paid a visit to WAPCo offices in Accra. The visit was to enable him appraise himself of the company’s operations and also gain first hand insight of challenges facing the company. Dr. Bangoura was accompanied by Mr. Dabire Bayaornibe, Director Energy at ECOWAS and Débo Barandao, Director General of the West African Gas Pipeline Authority.
WAPCo celebrates cultural wealth of host communities in Togo and Benin
The West African Gas Company Pipeline Ltd (WAPCo) in collaboration with the local councils responsible for its host communities in Togo and Benin organized cultural festivals in each country to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of these communities.
The celebrations were also to strengthen the already cordial relationship between WAPCo and its host communities within the two countries.

WAPCo shut down the pipeline in August last year after the line was severed by a ship’s anchor in Togolese waters.
